For all of you that have been anxiously awaiting the contest's arrival, our hopes may not be diminished. Hurricane Irene left a huge mess in Long Beach (and all over Long Island). If you watched the news, the boardwalk got hit pretty hard, there were lifeguard towers floating on the beach and an anchorwoman got swept away while reporting from right around the contest site.
As of now, the Quiksilver Pro looks to be on, the surfing part that is. You will have to keep checking about all the events and different concerts that were supposed to take place. Either way, we're happy there's still a chance to watch some good surfing from the pros. For more info and updates visit longbeach .org or quiksilverpro.com.
